“Be Kind to Whoever You Meet – Because everyone is going Through a Hard Battle— PLATO”

Chalo Dilli is a road movie. A journey that begins with the dynamic Mihika Mukherjea. A strong willed young woman who is a Senior Vice President of a top multinational Financial Institution in Mumbai. A jet setter, Go-getter, no nonsense woman, Mihika divides the world into losers and winners and knows which side she is on. Mrs Clear Cut!

The premise is simple. Mihika is heading back home from Mumbai to Delhi (to her banker husband who lives and works there), and misses her flight and encounters Manu Gupta, a podgy and loud ‘Ladies Cut-piece’ merchant who has a small 10 by 10 shop at Karol Bagh Delhi.

Manu is everything that Mihika isn’t. Loud. Crass. Obnoxious. Rude. (He is that guy who talks on his cellphone loudly in the theatre and then spits gutkaa juice in the aisle…). He isn’t an idiot. He is very smart. Street smart. But mostly over smart. And boy…do they pay for it!

As fate (and the script) would have it… Mihika lands up in a situation where she and Manu are stuck together for the rest of the journey to Delhi.

A bizarre journey full of adventure, madness and crazy comic moments with the oddest traveling couple ever! (She drinks Evian and while he is cool drinking from a bore well… She smokes Virginia Slims, he chews Gopal zarda)

A bizarre journey through air, road and rail from Mumbai, via Jaipur to Delhi.

A journey which along with these two protagonists showcases the real India. Its colorful and funny people and their eccentricities.

But above all it’s a journey within for Mihika. Where the real growth happens on reaching her destination of Delhi… (Which is a big moment because getting home turns out to be tougher than she thought…)…

And once she finally reaches Delhi (in a span of a day and a half)….
, tired, worn out and with enough stories to tell her grandkids someday, the moral of the story dawns upon her….

“Do not judge people by face value…. Including yourself”.

Come. Be a part of the craziest roller coaster journey of your lives…with Mihika and Manu, and their resounding war cry “Chalo Dilli’!!!

Always Kabhi Kabhi Synopsis

The last year in school, a year about first kisses and crushes. Of being so safe and yet so insecure. A year filled with living it up and living up to expectations. Our story is set in St. Marks School, Delhi. We are introduced to a set of friends.

Tariq Naqvi, the Bill Gates of St Marks – The geek who had the cheek to be cool but carried the burden of having to excel at everything.

Aishwarya Dhawan, she was breath taking, if a beautiful face can launch a 1000 ships, Aish could launch a million. A mother who wanted her to be a film star no less than Aishwarya Rai!!
Nandini she was to put it mildly the bitch. I don’t think she had a single friend in the 12 years she spent at St. Marks. Except Toy boy her 25 year old boyfriend who perhaps was too dumb to understand the full impact of her acid tongue. All he was interested in perhaps was getting his tongue around.

And then there was Sameer aka Sam. He was Mr. Shortcut always figuring out a way to do something faster and quicker. Tariq used to say that Sam is the kind of guy who would find a short-cut for a shortcut. Sam did not wan to spend his life counting monthly installments like his accountant Dad.

The year at St Marks began with a lot of excitement, Principal Khan and Ms Das had decided that the school was going to participate in the interschool Shakespearewallah contest and present Romeo & Juliet!

The story then unfolds a series of dramatic incidents that take place in each of these characters’ lives and how they find the answers to each question on a youthful journey together.

Character Sketch
Aishwarya Dhawan
A pretty damsel, the most sought after in school b u t y e t v e r y down to earth gi r l , f r iendl y, c a r i n g a n d helpful

Sameer
Coolest one at school
The “cool” dude of school, naughty, intelligent, fun loving, adventurous, daring, fast paced and risky

Tariq Naqavi
Brilliantly intelligent, No nonsense guy, ambitious, hardworking, sincere, friendly and mature.

Nandini
The trouble maker, gossip monger, attention seeker And cheeky yet deep down inside in search of true friendship and love

Starring- Akshay Kumar, Trisha Krishnan, Rajpal Yadav, Johny Lever, Makrand Deshpande, Asrani, Aruna Irani

Director- Priyadarshan

Producer-Akshay Kumar
Music Director-Pritam Chakraborty, Shani

Genre- Satirical drama comedy

‘July 23 Sachin Tichkule promises you a road full of pot holes’ and ‘ ‘July 23 Sachin Tichkule promises you a bumpy ride’, if these lines still seem alien to you, it is the whacky and zinger tagline of Khatta Meetha movie releasing on July 23rd that has already captured hearts of many with its promos and trailers.

Khatta Meetha is a satirical comedy drama movie revolving around mafia and corruption in the construction business. Even as one cannot help laughing as Sachin escapes from one trouble to fall into another, the film in a light hearted way reveals the level of corruption and crafty ways one have to adopt if they want to survive enjoying the bumpy ride. It also makes it a point to reflect the misuse of government funds by government contractors who are responsible for highway construction and repair in India. It is partly an indication towards the rampant use of fake material so that the contractor keeps making money by fixing the same stretches.

The story also deals with the notorious murder of Bihar PWD engineer Yogendra Pandey in 2009. Makrand Deshpande plays the murdered engineer and Akshay plays his colleague who uncovers the mystery behind his death. The presence of comic stars like Rajpal Yadav and Johnny Lever are the evidence enough to prove the extent the movie will be a complete laughter show, apart from the fact that Akshay Kumar has already shed his stuntman image and emerged as reigning king of comedy.

The actress in this movie, Trisha is famous south Indian actress, Priyadarshan will be launching in Bollywood. This is the first time that a heroine will play an important role in his movie. This makes the role more challenging. She has to play two characters in different time periods.

Just to set the record straight, like all other Priyadarshan movies this is also taken from a south Indian movie. Khatta Meetha is a remake of the 1989 hit Malayalam movie, Vellanakalude Nadu, directed by him only. Its movie cast was a famous Malayalam movie pair Mohanlal and Shobana.

In one line this movie appears to be promising and is at its hilarious best one should look out for.

Hinglish movies depict a more realistic view of the lifestyle of the modern India. When people speak they mix up English and Hindi; this is how the society has evolved. Not to forget the western connection and influence that almost everyone is having, a major reason that a greater population can relate themselves to these types of movies.

Out of all the hinglish movies that have been made so far let us talk about ones have topped the charts.

Bend it Like Bekham

It is the story of a young girl from a middle class Punjabi family, settled in London, desperate to make a career in soccer because she is a huge fan of Bechkam; while her mother freaks out at the very name of the game. Catchy Punjabi-Hindi-English dialogues were a quick hit with everyone.

Though high on comedy, the story is also about making dreams come true.

Slumdog Millionaire

With the Slumdog Millionaire, the category of hinglish film making achieved to new heights. Director Danny Boyle`s story of 3 slum kids received red carpet treatment worldwide. Tight plot and breathtaking cinematography are the star points of this flick.

Amritsar to LA

Based on the classic novel, Pride and Prejudice, the movie is a visual delight. The story travels from Amritsar to Britain and then to America. Directed by Gurinder Chadda, the movie tells story of a family living in Amritsar and having four daughters of marriageable age. It is a musical family drama.

Monsoon Wedding

There has been no better depiction of a modern day Indian wedding as done in the Monsoon Wedding. Apart from the fact that relatives come together to attend a wedding in the month of monsoon, the movie touches sensitive issues like sexual abuse in the family.

Being Cyrus

It is a very serious comedy. The movie is a 90 minute tightly packed story of complications in a Parsi family. The Saif Ali Khan, Boman Irani, Naseeruddin Shah and Dimple Kapadia starrer is a must watch.

Mitr, My Friend

It is a warm hearted tale of a middle- aged woman, her daughter and her husband. Starring Nasir Abdullan and Shobana, the movie is sure to strike cord with every couple, every mother and every daughter.

Mississippi Masala

It has interracial romance, comedy and drama- all elements of masala movie. So, I guess the name is justified. Extensive research by the director Mira Nair is visible in the movie.

Bollywood Hollywood

It was a hit in 2002 even though the story, with few changes, could have been made into a typical Bollywood film. But it falls well into the category of Hinglish movies because the story is based in Toronto and is about an Indo-Canadian family.

Bombay Boys

Made in 1998, this is unique film that tells story of three young men from different backgrounds and having different reasons to come to Mumbai. They meet each other for the first time at Mumbai airport and decide to take a place to live together. But soon things go out of control in the big city and they are in a mess.

Hyderabad Blues

Another movie that came out in 1998 was Hyderabad Blues. A sensitive movie which tells story of Varun Naidu (Nagesh Kukunoor), a young NRI who comes back to Hyderabad, his hometown, after 12 years and finds himself being treated like a foreigner.

This is our entry into Top 10 List Summer Contest. You can also participate and win $150 first prize (total $500 worth prizes to be won)

We post many movie trailers on this movie review website but we only have access to Eros Entertainment Trailers. I will recommend a friend’s site for movie trailers. Cine Marv has a simple navigation, comprehensive collection and most importantly they also write synopsis for each trailer that makes them very different from watching the same trailer on YouTube or other ‘generic’ sites.

I also like their ad-free player, they only include ads in the sidebar and not as a video overlay. Moroever, the quality is definitely much better than what you get on other ‘generic video sites’.

Subscribe to their coming soon section’s RSS feed by mail and don’t miss any more movie trailers in life

I had been searching for options to either download movies or watch Free Online Movies and found a great option in MovieMedias.

Do you know any sites to watch Hindi movies online? It’s good to see that some filmmakers are thinking of launching their movies on Youtube, I just wish they will have better quality. Something that’s not as heavy has HD but is better than their normal quality.

What’s your favorite site to watch films online? What kind of quality do you prefer? I believe HD is overrated because most monitors can’t render the quality anyway.
