Movie Review - Bachna Ae Haseeno

posted by admin

Movie: Bachna Ae Haseeno

Music Directors: Vishal-Shekhar

Starring: Ranbir Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Minisha Lamba, Deepika Padukone

Director: Siddharth Anand

This was the second time Ranbir Kapoor starred in an over-hyped movie. A famous song for the movie name 3 hottest bollywood actress and a lot of inspirations from old movies but director Siddharth Anand didn’t do justice to the starcast and marketing budget.

Good and popular movie composed by Vishal Shekhar failed to pull crowds at the box office. A lot of scenes in the movie were inspired. The character Raj (Ranbir) had a lot of similarities with DDLJ’s Raj played by Shahrukh Khan. Europe trip and missing train was a formula that was once hit with Indian audience but filmmakers should know that audience wants to see something new in movies. A scene directly copied from Devil Wears Prada where Ranbir is carrying a wardrobe and a coffee for his boss. It was a girl in the original movie.

Raj’s friend reminded of Jeff from famous British comedy serial Coupling again and again. Same hair style, same outlook towards life (and girls). The movie couldn’t have been more inspired.

Give us something original next time.

Music Review – Bachna Ae Haseeno

Music Director Duo – Vishal – Shekhar

Starring – Ranbir Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Minnisha Lamba, Deepika Padukone

With the music of Bachna Ae Haseeno out, there are really high expectation from the music directors Vishal Shekhar. Moreover, ever since the first promos of the film were shown on televisoion, the public is wildly anticipating this album to be a chartbuster.

The opening track Khuda Jaane is indeed ear catching especially with the soft, mellow undertones that are so catchy.

Lucky boy is another typical Yash Raj track with English and hindi blend of lyrics. Quite like Lazy Lamhe or Crazy kiya re. Sunidhi Chauhan sings beautifully for this one.

Following this is a comeback track by Lucky Ali – Aahista Aahista. The man has not lost his touch. Coupled with Shreya’s rocking voice, the track has the hip retro beats of an urban song.

Jogi Mahi completes the VS touch with Sukhwinder Singh coming in. He seems to be there in every album of theirs.

Finally, the classic track Bachna Ae Haseeno pops and to say the least, VS seem to have improvised on it, without degrading the tunes.

This might not be the best music albums but has catchy tunes to boast of.
